Sara Nissim

Dr Sara Nissim is engaged in Nursing Education for more than 35 years, advancing Transcultural Nursing in Israel and globally, her current position being Senior Lecturer at Ruppin Academic Center in Israel. She served in the past as Director of Wolfson Academic School of Nursing, affiliated to Tel Aviv University, as the Head of the Nursing Department at the Zefat Academic College and is known and identified as a Nursing Leader and a nationally and internationally expert in Cultural Diversity and Transcultural Nursing, lecturing and teaching the subject, all over the world, as well as taking part in international collaboration for advancing research and EBN on TCN. Her other clinical expertise and research interest are: Palliative Care, Geriatric Nursing, Bioethics. She holds two bachelor’s degrees from Haifa University: Ba in Education, and Ba in Nursing Science, as well as Ma in Education. She completed her Ph.D. in 2008 at Ruskin University UK, in Transcultural Nursing, focusing on Ethiopian Immigrant absorption to the Nursing Profession in Israel.

Dr Nissim holds the position of treasurer of the ETNA (European Transcultural Nursing Association) since 2010 and she is a member of board and reviewer of the Journal of Transcultural Nursing.
