Kouta Award Winners 2024

The recipients of the KOUTA AWARDS for this year were ceremoniously announced on 14 June during the 9th International ETNA Conference held at Middlesex University in London, UK, from 12-15 June 2025.

David Want won the KOUTA AWARD for the Best Presentation for his talk titled, “Transforming Interpretation Services Using Telepresence Robots”. David was commended for the innovative work on adopting telepresence robots which aligned with the conference theme and sparked an interesting discussion on the topic.

Małgorzata Szkup won the KOUTA AWARD for the Best Poster. The poster was titled, The Impact of Resilience Level on the Mental Health Status of Individuals Forced to Leave Their Homes Due to War” and panellists commented on how important and current the research was, and that the poster was structured logically and presented beautifully.

The Kouta Awards were established at the 8th International ETNA Conference in Denmark in 2023 to honour the memory of our esteemed Vice-President and dear friend, Professor Christiana Kouta. The awards consist of two categories: “Best Presentation” and “Best Poster”, which are bestowed during our yearly conference.
